By Karen and Vanessa This week is our science fair at Kendall-Whittier. For science fair, you do a science project. A science project is when you get with a partner and pick a science project. You can do an experiment or a model. For example, one of our classmates did an experiment about what would clean a penny better. For a model, other classmates did a jungle ecosystem. 5th and 6th graders do a partner project or you can work by yourself. The lower grades do a class project. After you're done with your project, you have to decorate your board. When you decorate your board you have to do the scientific method in order. It depends what your project is. If it is a model you do not have to do all of the scientific method. When you are doing your writing for the science project you have to make sure you write all of the method but if you are doing a model, don’t worry, you still have to do writing. On science fair day you go put your board in the multipurpose room with your experiment or your model. Then judges will come and judge your project. Then they will pick a winner! You get more than a month to work on your project. The science fair ends on the 16th of February. If you are working hard you have plenty of time to finish your project.

By Elaina and Jazmin Revolutionary day is a time where 5th graders from all Tulsa Public Schools go to celebrate the Colonial time period. One of our 5th grade teachers named Ms.Weber dresses us into what the people back then wore. For example, the girls wear fancy dresses and the boys wear suits and hats that almost look like pirate hats but are called tricorne hats. Our social studies teacher Ms.Weber is the one who is in charge of the whole field trip. We’re looking forward to our trip on February 2. In our school we learn this rap called the Bill of Rights rap. In fact, we’re the leaders who do the rap in front of all of the kids. It starts with these words: “Ratified in 1791 the bill of rights had just begun. . .”. Use the link below this article to listen to the full rap. Revolutionary day is when we celebrate one of the most important day for most Americans. We celebrate the day of winning our rights.
